With over 30 years of experience supporting students with learning and executive function challenges, I help each individual uncover his or her unique learning style and build the confidence to thrive.

I help to bridge the gap between home and school, discovering how your child learns best and building the executive function skills he or she needs to thrive.

To build a tailored roadmap for your child, I will start with targeted pre-evaluations as needed across essential skill areas:

  • Reading & Literacy: I will evaluate decoding, accuracy, fluency (grade 2+), and comprehension to pinpoint instructional reading levels.

  • Spelling & Encoding: I assess encoding skills to measure how effectively your child applies sound-symbol relationships in writing.

  • Writing Mechanics & Composition: Writing skills will be examined from single sentences to detailed paragraphs and essays, reviewing structure and mechanics.

  • Foundational Math: I test early numeracy and number fluency to establish math readiness and target growth areas.

These evaluations provide clear baseline data, allowing me to design targeted, effective instruction from day one

Pre-Evaluations to determine areas of need

One-to-One Tutoring (45-60 min)

After a free 30 minute consultation to identify your child's needs and complete targeted pre-evaluations, I will craft a personalized learning plan tailored to his or her unique goals. Whether sessions are scheduled once a week or multiple times per week, instruction remains structured, goal-driven, and adaptable. I will maintain consistent communication with families every step of the way, ensuring transparent updates on progress and the next steps.

One-to-One and Small Group Executive Function Groups

I help students build the essential cognitive and organizational habits needed for academic success and interpersonal growth. Coaching focuses on core executive function skills, including:

  • Planning & Organization: Goal setting, managing materials, prioritizing tasks, and tracking assignments.

  • Time Management & Focus: Estimating task duration, overcoming procrastination, and building sustained attention.

  • Social Executive Functioning & Negotiation: Navigating social dynamics, understanding perspectives, regulating emotions during disagreement, and developing fair negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Study Strategies & Self-Regulation: Developing active learning habits, test prep routines, and flexible problem-solving strategies.

Through structured 1:1 sessions or interactive small groups, students gain practical tools to manage their workload and navigate social relationships with confidence and reduced stress

IEP & Special Education Document Review

With over 30 years of experience in special education—including 24 years within Virginia public schools—I provide an expert, objective review of IEPs, 504 plans, and initial or re-evaluation paperwork.
